Case study: fingerprint door handles for new-build flats in Leeds

Our locksmiths fitted fingerprint smart lever handles to the doors of new-build flats in Leeds, over three visits between November 2022 and April 2023. In October 2026 the same client asked us back for more.

The job

  • Where: Leeds (LS11)
  • Doors: new oak-finish timber doors, fitted while the flats were still being finished
  • Locks fitted: LF Leverline smart lever handles, which open by fingerprint, with a key as back-up
  • Visits: three in 2022–2023, and a return visit in October 2026

What we did

  1. Clamped a boring jig to each door so every hole sat in the same place and the doors stayed undamaged.
  2. Bored the doors and fitted the latch and strike plates.
  3. Fitted the Leverline handles, enrolled the fingerprints and checked the key override.

Why fit smart handles during the build

  • Doors are new and unfinished. Boring for the lock before the final clean is quicker and avoids marking finished doors.
  • No keys to hand over. New tenants are enrolled on the day they move in.
  • Same fitters next time. When this client needed more doors done in 2026, they came back to us.
