Let’s get things straight, most people didn’t believe the seriousness of the impending CV-19 coronavirus, “it won’t affect me” I would hear, “ I don’t care” was another well banded around phrase, well that was a week ago, and things certainly have moved on. Children’s parties have been cancelled and our village general meeting also, but I don’t want to just focus on the positives (joke), CV-19 is here, causing chaos and possibly needless suffering in many cases.
But what the hell has that to do with Smart Locks?” I hear you croak.
You use your phone for lots of applications, we as humans have moved on, we avoid contact with many things now, like shopping, banking, actually socialising (remember that?) phone boxes…the list is endless. Right now CV-19 is spread via human contact, through air and by landing on day to day items, such as money, lift buttons and door handles. My pen does not hold enough ink to write the list of possible items that could spread this ghastly virus, but you get the point.
In the smart home world how can our products help contain CV-19? One of the ways would certainly be to fit a smart lock with a self-opening option, like the Ultion smart or Adios Smart lock, your phone activates the lock and the latch once the phone comes into the proximity of the lock. This means you don’t need to touch your dirty keys or door handle at all!
Once you are in, we use Alexa products for lighting, so you can dodge that grubby light switch your nephew was playing with last thursday “ Alexa turn on the kitchen lights” ….Perfect, now watch some TV till this all blows over… Oh , and wash your hands, twice please.
