Lock change: code lock on a city-centre flat door in Birmingham

In October 2026 our locksmith fitted a push-button code lock to a flat door in Birmingham city centre (B1) on the day it was booked, so keys were no longer needed.

The job

  • Where: Birmingham city centre (B1), October 2026
  • Door: white flat door
  • Fitted: a mechanical push-button code lock

What we did

  1. Marked out the lock position at a comfortable height.
  2. Drilled and fitted the code lock and its latch.
  3. Set the code and checked it opened from outside and with the handle inside.

Worth knowing

  • No batteries. A mechanical push-button lock works without power.
  • Change the code when people move out. It takes minutes, with no new keys to cut.

Shop keypads and code locks.
